Already?

Is my three day weekend over already? That sucks! Not that I haven’t had a thoroughly enjoyable weekend, I’m just not looking forward to going back to work. Afterall, I have to move and rehook PC’s first thing in the morning, which is so not my normal routine! Normal routine usually has me reading email, drinking coffee and waking up before doing any heavy lifting. Not this week, with the carpet people working in various offices all week, and responsibility to move and re-setup PC’s falling to me, I’ll be sure to have antsy coworkers first thing every morning this week. They’ll be waiting patiently for their PCs to be hooked back up I’m sure. Oh well, there’s only one of me, so they’ll just have to form a line.

While I was at the Office 2003 launch event last week, I was trying to think about ways our office could leverage the technology, what we could do with it, what sort of infrastructure changes we would need to make, what sort of cost savings it might generate, etc. All the things that I’m sure…

Thanks for all of the suggestions on renaming. Some of them were quite, umm, interesting, given what I thought was a relatively simply operation, but hey, what did I expect asking a bunch of geeks? 🙂 I’ve settled on a program called Bulk Rename Utility, mostly because when I looked at the screenshot, I could…

  • Bored meetings

Next week we’re having a Board meeting. Normally, we have our Board meetings onsite, which I hate. I always end up having to help one Board member or other check their email using their laptop, and our network, and then making sure I reset all their network settings before they leave and can never get…

  • Feeling incomplete

When I went to the eye doctor on Friday, the fine folks at DOC told me I could use the same frames that I had been using but that because the frames had some small scratches, I’d be better off getting new lenses. No problem, except for the fact that they no longer have an…

  • Inexpensive HTML editors?

So Angela’s work is looking to purchase an inexpensive Windows based HTML editor. They suggested FrontPage, after deciding that Dreamweaver was probably too expensive for them. She’s not the worlds biggest Frontpage fan, (neither am I), so she’s looking for some alternatives that’ll be cheaper, or the same in price as Frontpage, but still be…
