Why?

I have a question, when you’re switching from using Outlook Express 6 to Outlook 2000, why does Outlook refuse to import message rules that are incompatible with older versions of Outlook? At least I think that’s what happened, when I imported the message rules, all of the “mail from specified account” rules didn’t import, and then when I tried to create those rules in Outlook it let me, but warned me that they would be incompatible with Outlook 98. Now I don’t want to argue with my laptop, but if I’m using 2000, why would I gave a rat’s ass if the rule wouldn’t work in 98?

Isn’t that sort of like getting a warning at your local US bank that your US money may not be spendable outside of the country? Is that even relevant?

Some more discussion of the RSS “problem”, and the real answer to the problem, quit pulling feeds once an hour! Trust me, I update once, maybe twice a day, during the week and hardly at all on weekends. I’d be willing to bet most of the feeds you are subscribed to are similar. For more…

Because sometimes, after you climb over the boards you hit your head on the ice and get knocked unconscious. I see stupid people, they’re everywhere! *L* Best quote in the article, though, goes to Bob Boughner: “Well, it’s the shame,” said Boughner, with a grin. “It’s never a girl. It’s always a guy.” I guess…

    LindowsCD

Looks like Lindows has released a bootable CD version. They’re charging $29.95 for the CD’s. Funny thing is, this seems an awful lot like Knoppix, and that didn’t cost me anything to download. 🙂 So, is there any major difference between the two, all you Linux experts? Kevin stumbled on one of the more frustrating “rookie mistakes” that we all make from time to time. Not documenting stuff! I’ve stumbled on this one myself a few times recently, mistakenly thinking that a problem was a one-time thing and not writing down, and sharing with the other tech support folks, exactly what I…

    Ethical Considerations of Outsourcing

I caught this post over at Above and Beyond KM today while I was taking a look at twitter updates from LegalTech New York. It’s about the ethical and practical considerations of outsourcing legal work. Mary doesn’t mention ediscovery specifically, but she did share with me that ediscovery was absolutely mentioned during the session. Specifically…

  • The famous 10%

I was reading through blogs today when I found this post by Ian about Photoshop and the fact that folks use 10 percent of the features. One of Ian’s comments struck an interesting cord with me: He may only use 10% but perhaps I use a different 10%. It got me thinking about the where…
