I think we might need a variation of the Dunning-Kruger effect to describe the people who weren’t smart enough to realize the AI was wrong when it told them their ideas were brilliant.
Why would we trust the same leaders who never overcame proximity bias when it came to people who spent more time in the office versus those who got work done to figure out how much flexibility employees should have? They’re not good at any of this.
I know opening social media right now can feel like an open invitation to a never-ending scroll of rage. I’ve been avoiding much of it myself for the last few weeks, busying myself with travel and projects instead for the benefit of my mental health. I know, however, that the internet can be a source of inspiration, fun, community, and happiness. I need to commit to finding that rather than lazily scrolling through algorithmic feeds.
We should always be thoughtful about what we say in meetings and how we say it. It’s just being professional, and now that we can also assume there will be a record of it, we have yet another reason!
