Remote Calendars

I’ve written before about my reluctance to use Google Calendar because my whole schedule is in Outlook and I have used Yahoo’s for keeping my wife informed on my calendar because Google doesn’t have an easy way to synchronize with Outlook. I thought today when I saw a link to this post about Remote Calendars that I had a way to start using Google Calendar, but the solution I wanted proved to be just out of my reach.

Seems that in order to get Remote Calendars to work with Outlook 2007 beta, you have to get it working with Outlook 2003 and then upgrade. Since I’ve already done that upgrade, and don’t especially want to go back to 2003 and redo it, I guess I’ll continue working the way I have been.

As a bit of a follow up to last night’s Gnomedex comments, let me say this. I do think it’s the attendees that make a conference great. So you know I spent most of yesterday packing up equipment. Then last night, as Angela has said already, her PC had a hard drive crash, and we spent the evening rearranging the equipment in our office and moving the Mac into the office. I spent this morning helping load stuff into cars, and then…

Progress that I’ve made on the $0 budget intranet so far this week: Installed SlimFTP for Uniserver plugin. Ran into that same old start bug that the 3.2 version of Uniserver had, however I discovered that just starting the FTP server from the .exe instead of the batch file works like a charm. Installed WebCalendar….

  1. Amen, Brother! I wasted such a ridiculous amount of time trying to figure out how to get it to work w/ O2007! However, I’ve given notice at my current employer, so will set this up with my Outlook 2003 at home. I’ll let you know if I can get it working there, or if it’s simply a lost cause.
