Gmail

Rick Klau has some interesting comments about Gmail. I do think this is just the beginning for where Google is headed with this. I envision big things. I didn’t sign up for an account for a long time, even though as a Blogger user I was eligible, because personally I still like living in Outlook (and OneNote as I talked about below). Having email, calendar items, contacts and RSS feeds on my laptop all feed into Outlook makes it available to me even when I do not have an internet connection. That’s a big deal to me.

That being said, when I realized that some people were being given the chance to invite others, I signed up. Unfortunately I was not, at that time, given the opportunity to invite anyone so I sort of ignored the whole process until this week, when I realized they were giving new chances to invite folks and then I discovered that I do have 3 invites! I also saw this post over at Wil Wheaton’s and my immediate reaction was, “I’m in!”.

So, here’s the deal. If you, or someone you know is currently serving overseas in the military and could use the Gig of space to store pictures, emails, etc. from their family, drop me a line and tell me about them at “gmailinvite” at this particular domain and we’ll try and get them set up. If I found out you lied just to get an invite from me, well, there won’t be much I can do to you, but everyone here will know about it. 🙂

Gee with everything else going on around here, I forgot to tell you all about my trial run with Remote Desktop last night. It’s not exactly as sure-fire simple as the Sales guys made it out to be the few times I asked about it. First I setup the XP box at work to accept…

    LegalTech New York

I was talking just the other day with someone on Twitter about creating some sort of tracking RSS feed for the LegalTech conference Feb 2-4 in New York. Much like last year’s ILTA conference, since I won’t be there, I am going to try and use the resources available to me to track the online…

One Reason I Love the Internet

Cross posted from my Child Abuse Survivor blog, with the following further thought. This is also a good example of why which social network you choose to use, matters. If I had decided that I didn’t like the way Facebook worked, and decided I was going to delete my account and move to Google Plus,…

  • All in a day’s work

Just another typical day at the office yesterday. The big project was getting another blog up and running so I could keep all my notes on the Office 2003 beta in one place for future presentation to my boss, and as a side benefit, share them with my site visitors. Of course that work could…
