Search

Thanks to Andy for giving me the heads up on the search function not working. I’m not sure what happened, or why, but once I reposted the HTML code snippet it went back to working again, so search away!

I hope everyone had a nice New Year’s Eve and Day. Most of my holiday yesterday was spent studying, with occasional breaks to catch up on football scores and then a longer break to watch K-19: The Widowmaker with Angela. It was a pretty good movie, and a nice break from the monotony of reading page after page about hard disk controllers, or interrupt and I/O addressing. (Yeah I know it’s what I do for a living, but certain aspects of computer stuff are boring as hell, especially trying to memorize stuff for a test that you would just look up in real life. *L*)

The rest of Columbus is bracing for tomorrow night’s OSU-Miami game. Personally I’d like to see OSU win, just to make all those fools at ESPN who have already handed Miami the National Championship look stupid, but my real hope is that we don’t have a repeat of the campus, umm, “activities”, that took place after the Michigan game.

Oh, and I didn’t really make any New Year’s resolutions either. It’s always been my feeling that you shouldn’t wait until New Year’s to make changes in your life if they’re needed, you should make them as you go along!

JR did a nice job of describing how easy it was to install the security patch for Firefox, so I won’t try and repeat what he said, but I do have some additional comments. This is exciting. This is the way a browser should update. This changes a lot for Firefox. I don’t know how…

I’m spending a goodly part of my morning, in between frantic phone calls from my wife, who’s work Mac has lost the ability to open Pagemaker on the same day that their newspaper is due to the printer (she’s uninstalling/reinstalling Pagemaker now, I think. Keep your fingers crossed), going over the seminar schedule for the…

Wish me luck! Later: Everything seems to be working…

For those of you on the email list for this blog, I did get an email last night from Blogger Support acknowledging that there is definitely a bug in Blogger that is causing the emails to go out more than once. I don’t know how long it’ll take to get fixed or have any more…

The other new thing I’m trying out, at least on my work PC, is Mozilla 1.1. (Yeah I’m really behind on this one!) I do like some of the features, and it was nice to get a good look at what this site looks like in Moz, since I had already seen what it looks…

  • New ESBN features

I was off-line most of the weekend, celebrating Angela’s birthday with both of our families, so I hadn’t noticed until I grabbed the copy/paste code for that last entry that ESBN.org had added some features. Obviously the “rate this content” is new, and given the close race between thumbs up and thumbs down my posts…
