It’s always the obvious stuff

So this morning I came in and got right to doing our invoicing. That involves some complicated database stuff but nothing too difficult, you just have to be careful to do things in the right order and enter the correct dates, stuff like that. You have to really pay attention to every little detail as you go through the billing options and, as I have now learned today, it’s also very important to make sure you load the proper paper into the printer. Otherwise you wind up with somewhere around 50% of the 400 invoices printed on the wrong paper!

Of course, I could blame it on the fact that we have 5 different invoices, that are all remarkably similar, and that sometimes they get mixed up. But the truth of the matter is, I should have paid more attention to what I was picking up to refill the paper tray with.

Yeah, all this tech knowledge and geeky lifestyle and I still wind up reprinting jobs because I had the wrong paper in the printer. I rule! *L*

I just finished up some tweaks to our main database and I’m happy with myself. There’s something about making DB tweaks that just makes me happy. I think it’s sort of like solving a puzzle.
