Various personal items

After over 3500 miles in eight days last week, my car picked today on the 2 mile drive home from work to start having issues. The “check engine” light popped on. I’m sure it’s probably nothing, but the timing of it right after the long trip makes me worry just a little. It’s still under warranty though, so all is good. I just have to put up with no car for a few days while the dealership takes a look at it.

The Life of a One-Man IT Department t-shirt, which I wore the first day of Gnomedex and somewhere in the area of 3 people noticed, has been washed a couple of times now and seems to be holding up pretty well. I was a bit worried, but now I think it should be about as fine as any concert t-shirt sort of thing. It’s not a bad quality t-shirt. For those of you who didn’t see it at Gnomedex, Jim’s pic of me is the best one I’ve seen the shirt in yet!

Brad in an IM chat just mentioned that he’s studying for the A+ Certification. That reminds me, I need to get cracking on getting those certifications now that the vacation is over. I need to have it done by the end of the year, but realistically I’d like to be done before we get into the holiday season.

First things first, tomorrow I replace a hard drive, and run month-end reports. That should make for a pretty full day, don’t ya’ think?

Lastly, am I the only one who gets totally frustrated waiting for an email response from someone when they’ve promised me either cool information or cool software to play with? I understand the reason for the delays, and am certainly not angry with these people, but I’m not a patient person, at all!

I bit the bullet and installed SP2 over lunch today, since I had to work through my lunch hour anyway. For those of you who might care, the Columbus Airport has free wi-fi available at SSID: CMH. I only discovered this last night when I saw a sign that pointed it out to me in the baggage claim area. That was cool, I was able to grab my PocketPC and check for any “emergency” emails…
